What's Included

What Remodeling includes.

  1. Scope and fixed line-item pricing

Agreed in detail before demolition, so change orders are the exception rather than the business model.

  2. Demolition and structural work

Including the load-bearing changes that make an open plan possible, engineered where they need to be.

  3. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing

Bringing the systems behind the walls up to current code while the walls happen to be open.

  4. Finish carpentry and fit-out

Cabinetry, tile, trim, paint and fixtures, the part you actually see and touch every day.

When You Need It

When do you need Remodeling?

If any of this sounds familiar, it's time.

Remodelling makes sense when the house is in the right place but the wrong shape. These are the situations that usually prompt the call.

  • 01

The kitchen is dated and closed off

By far the most common renovation, and usually the one that changes daily life the most.

  • 02

The family has outgrown the house

An addition is frequently cheaper and far less disruptive than moving, especially if you like where you live.

  • 03

You just bought a place with good bones

The best time to renovate is before you move in, while the house is empty.

  • 04

    The bathrooms are original

Old wet areas hide water damage. Worth opening up before it turns structural.

  • 05

    You are preparing to sell

Targeted work on the right rooms, without over-improving past what the street will return.

  • 06

A previous renovation was done badly

We are happy to assess someone else's work and tell you honestly what has to be redone.

Why It Matters

Why choose JAT for Remodeling?

  • Your house stays livable

Work sequenced and dust contained so you keep a functioning kitchen or bathroom wherever possible.

  • Nasty surprises get found early

Old houses hide things. We open up and assess before pricing the finish work, not after.

  • Additions that match

New work detailed to match existing rooflines, trim and proportion so it does not read as bolted on.

  • Realistic timelines

We would rather quote you an honest twelve weeks than a hopeful six that becomes sixteen.

  • One crew, start to finish

The same people through the whole job, so nobody has to be re-briefed on your house.

  • Someone answers the phone

The single most common complaint about remodellers, and the easiest one to fix.

What Makes Us Different

Not all builders are created equal.

  1. A finished JAT Specialties home with a pool courtyard and screened porch.

We are ICF specialists, not dabblers

Plenty of builders will quote you an ICF house. Very few build them regularly. Insulated Concrete Form construction is what we are known for on this coast, a steel-reinforced concrete wall, insulated on both faces, that stands up to storms, stays quiet and cuts what you spend cooling it.

  2. A finished kitchen and great room with white shaker cabinetry and wide-plank hardwood floors.

    Engineering sits behind the build

Jeremy's background runs through civil engineering, construction administration, architectural project management, site supervision, site design and surveying. That is an unusual foundation for a homebuilder, and it shows up in how site, drainage and structural questions get answered, early, and properly.

  3. Jeremy and Mitchell Trantina standing either side of the lettered JAT Specialties company trailer.

You get the family, not a middleman

JAT is a family company. Jeremy started it in 2006, Mitchell joined in 2016 and Mason in 2023. When you hire us, the people who own the business are the people on your job, which is the whole reason our estimates hold and our punch lists actually get closed.
